Funk
Funk; I'm not talking about Average White Band or Ohio Players here. I'm talking about those days - sometimes extended - where we just can't get our mojo.
I'm getting close to the end and for whatever reason I'm in one of those hard times. I have a couple of med issues but let's face it we all have those. We all have a life and trying to stay focused isn't easy for anyone.
What distinguishes success from failure is grit. I had a professor at THE Ohio State University - Organizational Behavior if I remember correctly - Professor Randy Bobbitt - hope he still around. In his class he discussed the concepts of education, intelligence and grit. He gave every student the opportunity to retake tests and re-write papers as many times as you wanted.
Sounds like a great class right. Well you might be surprised how many people didn't take advantage of the opportunity. While the class itself was good, the life long lesson I learned was priceless. You can work yourself to ANYTHING you want.
This brings me back to funk. I decided to attack funk. I seized the opportunity and decided the best way to beat funk was to work through it.
Got home today and banged out 800 burps late. Not sure what counts but I feel better. Grit - bet on it every time.
