321 - 2021

Today is Down Syndrome Day. Kari can correct me (as she is want to do) as to whether this is World or National (I’m thinking World).

Considering that I have 3 followers (I’m an optimist), I figure everyone understands the logic of 3-2-1.

Point is, this is a day of celebration. My son Alex celebrated his 36th birthday on 3/12 (if only “we” could have done the Lamaze breathing for 9 more days we’d have had a 3/21 baby! BTW - I was good to go - I never felt anything throughout the whole Lamaze childbirth thing!)

When Alex was born I remember returning home after a very long day, sitting with my feet over the bed (a waterbed - sweet), falling back and thinking my life was changed forever. I have never been more right and more wrong at the same time. What a fool I was.

Alex “The Man” Jones has taught me so many lessons and I cannot think of anything I ever taught him - truly. He is perpetually happy, endlessly patient, extremely self-confident (he is always pretty sure he is the best looking guy in the room) and always loving. He is happy and has a passion for his job (and for life).

Those who have a person with Down Syndrome in their life know exactly what I am talking about. Those who don’t should take my words seriously.
