Some
The opportunities and challenges of Down syndrome vary just like everyone’s world. Some individuals have medical challenges - some don’t. Some are funny and extroverted - some are quiet and reserved. Some are musical - some are tone deaf (like my son Alex - I love him more than life itself but The Man can’t sing. The funny part is I love to hear him sing - weird).
My point is that individuals with Down syndrome are as different as the people reading this blog (likely more so since my 4 readers are all relatives).
Just like these individuals are different, so are their families. They cover every socio-economic group. They are part of every ethnic and religious group and just like the rest of the world some need support and help. Some have not been blessed as much as others. Some start from a place facing many more challenges than those reading this blog.
Please help by supporting our efforts on 10/19. The challenges our group is manufacturing on 10/19 pale in comparison to those faced by so many DSACO families. I’ve found that when I give of my time, effort or money the rewards I receive are ten-fold. Try it.
Thank you.
